Yoga & Self Care Massage for CORE Strength & Functional Movement

‘Improve & develop CORE strength & stability to aid functional day to day movement’

We will teach self-massage, technique focused yoga, breath-work & mindfulness to help release unwanted tension. Allowing you to build a strong core, stand taller & move freer.

7th May 2022. 1.30pm - 4pm £45

The Front .

developing strength in the core muscles on the front of the body

- this workshop will identify the relationship between the muscles on the front of the core and the key muscles that flex the hips. As we develop strength and range of movement this will help you improve your posture & mobility.

21st May 2022. 1.30pm - 4pm £45

The Sides .

developing strength in the core muscles on the side of the body

– this workshop will help you access, release, strength & stretch the the core muscles that help you rotate and side bend the torso whilst stabilising the hips in movement. This will help you maintain strong & stable hips whilst facilitating optimum spinal motion and efficient posture.

11th June 2022. 1.30pm - 4.30pm £45

The Back .

Building strength in the muscles from the back of the hips & up the spine to the shoulders

– during this workshop we will become more physically balanced through a core focus on the back of your body. Most of us live with shoulder or back pain at times and learning how to help this at home can be a game changer for many. As we build strength in these muscles it will help us stand taller and more freer.

Yoga & self massage provides a most effective discipline to allow strong posture & freedom of movement.

Every day, whether we spend our time working seated at a desk or our free time partaking in sports & activities we love, these movement patterns that we find ourselves taking repetitively can influence the way the body moves & feels. Over time, the muscles & connective tissue respond to either stillness or repetitive movement and this can lead to aches, pains & injuries.

Through targeted trigger point & connective tissues release and a slow vinyasa flow you will learn how to understand, find, activate, strengthen & lengthen the muscles that make up the circumference of your core. Muscles that help us hold a strong posture, move freely and minimise pain.

During our time together we will:

 ·      release the overused muscles - the ‘tighter stuff’, activate the underused muscles - the ‘weaker stuff’ that come about from the repetitive nature of our movement

·     improve your mobility by learning how to effectively activate, engage & strengthen the core muscles that surround the spine, and take away simple practices that you can incorporate into daily life to help maintain a strong, aligned posture.

·      encourage recovery & rest for the body & mind, giving our muscles and connective tissues time to renew and repair.

Throughout the workshops we will help you to better understand your body whilst also teaching techniques & practices to restore balance that you can come back to again & again.
